Whether or not to neuter your dog or spay your bitch is another personal choice. There are advantages and disadvantages to consider when doing so. If you only own one dog and ensure it does not stray, there is little risk of unwanted puppies resulting – but if you are any doubt as to whether your dog or bitch may ever be able to get out and mate (this is why a secure back garden is essential) then you should seriously consider neutering.
